spokanada roadtrip

the husband and i had an awesome mini-holiday over the long weekend and drove down to spokane, washington... we saw some sights, ate some eats and of course shopped some shops. we even managed to meet up with our new blog-buddies ashley and her hubby brad for some lunch (at my fave french cafe) and of course thrifting! 

here are "a few" highlights of the weekend...

 for some reason i was really enamored with these electrical posts

 lots of wide open fields, reminded me of the prairies i grew up with

 we took a little gondola ride over the spokane river falls

 took a stroll through spokane riverfront park

 had the best breaky at this train-car diner

 ashley & brad took us to the most awesome shops,
unfortunately i completely forgot to take pictures inside of any of them,
with one small exception:

anyhoo, here are some of my thrifty finds...

 this fantastic old tin recipe box FULL of recipes and other snippets

 

 sweet pyrex bowl and a lovely french 

glass dish/ashtray? (which is now a ring holder :)

 a spokane postcard from 1915 and awesome coulee dam mini-photo book

 new addition to my tiny bottle collection 

and a beautiful sterling silver ring

 AMAZING new addition to my camera collection 

now i can finally learn to take TTV pictures like this...

(clearly i need more practice, but i can't wait to figure it out!)

i also found some non-vintage/thrifty goodies...
