a note from the cat

collecting (a.k.a. stuff i didn't buy... yet)

i have quite a few collections... old cameras, tins, acorns, owls, snow globes, shot glasses, skeleton keys, tiny glass bottles, matchbooks, vintage postcards, and recently - buttons.
sometimes collecting things can get a little out of control  - the husband also had a shot glass collection so with ours combined we have well over a hundred now!
that being said - i often fall in like with things i want to collect - most recently: teaspoons. when i was in winnipeg last month, thrifting with Leigh-Ann, i noticed an entire box of adorable vintage collectible teaspoons in one of the shops. they were all individually priced but i was really tempted to make an offer on the entire box... hello instant collection!
i didn't do it, but i have been thinking about them ever since... maybe i will look around some thrift shops here in kelowna some time soon...

it's time to upgrade my cell phone and i can't decide...

iPhone vs. Blackberry

I like that the iPhone (3G) has a large screen, great music player/iTunes, a million fun apps, and the touch screen interface is super easy to use (except for typing, in my case).

I like that the Blackberry (9700) is faster, has a proper key button pad, speedy emails, can record video, and the instant messaging service since just about everyone I know has a Blackberry (so messaging would be free).

I will use it primarily for emailing, web surfing/blog reading, listening to music and taking photos... and the occasional phone call :)

What do you folks think?
The salespeople at the phone stores were no help to me whatsoever.
Any advice?

i'm back from my trip - unfortunately i'm even sicker now than when i left.
today is my two year blog-birthday/anniversary and yesterday was my shop's. i was going to post something special but my brain feels like mush right now as it's full of this cold/flu/whatever-i-have - so i'll save that for another day soon.
in the meantime, here is a lovely video for your monday morning...
