some of these things may seem like ordinary things that ordinary people do in the summertime. however, i am not one of those ordinary people. i hate sweating to death in the heat. i really dislike bright sunshine blinding me. and i don't tan, i burn. summertime for me usually means being cooped up inside air-conditioned spaces and whining about how hot it is. if i absolutely must be outside, then it's in the shadiest area possible, smothered in SPF70, and much MUCH more whining. gee, aren't i fun? you may be wondering why i live in one of the hottest areas in the province, and likely the country - me too! (another fun thing is that i LOOOOVE swimming, and i live just a few blocks away from the beach, but i rarely go, because of the heat... in fact, i don't think i went more than once or twice last year.)
well, as you can imagine, i am not exactly the best person to be around in the summer. and my husband, being from Texas, looooves being out in the heat. so i don't usually do anything he wants to do from about mid-May through mid-September :( but! this year i plan to change that. i am vowing to enjoy summer like a normal person. i swear! see...?

That's the c
over page for my first attempt at an art journal - for
Rachel Denbow's summer art journal class! This is where I will be writing/painting/glueing/sewing all the things I am vowing to do this summer. I have a couple more pages done, to be posted in the near future. I figure the more I write, and share with people, the more accountable I will be!
What are your plans this summer? Do tell! Maybe I'll get some more inspiration:)
