After my little roadtrip to Spokane this weekend I have once again reaffirmed my belief that there is some sort of conspiracy going on so that Canada is not allowed to have cool stores anymore. I am talking about the likes of Target (sorry, Zeller's just doesn't compare), Bath & Bodyworks (The Bodyshop in Canada? not so much) and of course the amazing Urban Outfitters and beautiful Anthropologie.
Of course there are some Canadian stores that I love, but they are mostly small, locally-owned shops - and they are few and far between! More and more I am finding myself shopping online (hello Etsy! thank goodness for you!) but once in a while I do like to go out shopping for an afternoon, grab a coffee or little lunch a long the way, maybe bring a friend along for second-opinions, etc... it's just not as fun to do anymore (unless you like to come home empty-handed, which isn't always a bad thing, for the bank account, I guess)!
Anyways, I can't really afford to do any shopping right now, but it's always nice to at least have the option, when you want it :)
This weekend in Washington I did shop a little, but mostly for gifts and groceries... well, when I say "groceries" I mean essentials like gum, candy & chocolate... but don't get me started on the Canadian options for that grocery aisle.

Did you know there is an Urban Outfitters in Vancouver? It's on Granville @ Robson across from the original Fluevogs. And yes, I'd love to have an Anthropologie. It would be nice if Zellers could do something with itself to make it more happening.
No WAY! I am totally going to have to try and pay a visit when I'm down in Vancouver next month. Thanks for the heads-up! :)
Oh how I love Urban Outfitters! We don't have it in Holland either :(
